Tenoxicam / Tilcotil  by drdoc on-line

Tenoxicam is a Non Steroidal Antiinflammatory drug (NSAID),
used in the treatment of inflammatory and degenerative disorders
of the musculoskeletal system. It is from the oxicam group of non
steroidal antiinflammatory agents.

I use it in particular in cases of inflammatory arthritis -
especially :

Rheumatoid Arthritis
Ankylosing spondylitis and other seronegative spondyloarthropathies
Gout

But it is also useful for extraarticular disorders,
including:

Bursitis
Tendonitis.

I also use it for Osteoarthritis where there is inadequate
response from analgesics alone, or where there is significant inflammatory
symptoms, such as stiffness.

It is used once daily, and has a rapid onset of action.

It is available as a :

Oral form -either tablet or effervescent preperation.
Rectal suppositories
Parenteral form for injection.

It has a side effect profile in common with the other non-steroidal
agents...with potential gastric and renal side effect, and has an
interaction with warfarin/coumadin.

In chronic disorders, such as Rheumatoid arthritis, I use it as a
daily therapy - taken at night to relieve the morning stiffness.

In acute inflammation, such as gout...the dose used is 40mg
per day for 2 days , then 20mg daily for 5 days.
