Tenoxicam / Tilcotil by drdoc on-line
But it is also useful for extraarticular disorders,
I also use it for Osteoarthritis where there is
response from analgesics alone, or where there is significant inflammatory
symptoms, such as stiffness.
It is used once daily, and has a rapid onset of action.
It is available as a :
Oral form -either tablet or effervescent preperation.
Parenteral form for injection.
It has a side effect profile in common with the other
agents...with potential gastric and renal side effect, and has an
interaction with warfarin/coumadin.
In chronic disorders, such as Rheumatoid arthritis, I
use it as a
daily therapy - taken at night to relieve the morning stiffness.
In acute inflammation, such as gout...the dose
used is 40mg
per day for 2 days , then 20mg daily for 5 days.
